Kerbside Collection's debut jazz funk and rare groove LP „Mind the Curb“ (released May 2013 on Légère Recordings) gets the remix, rework and re-use treatment with a variety of re-interpretations from fellow Aussie and international friends with everything from dubby-pacific-nu disco, analogue breaks and beats to balearic Japanese nu jazz.
Brisbane beatsmith Blunted Stylus (Geoff Blunted/Jigzaw Geoff/Ex Resin Dogs) kicks off the release with a heavy low slung, analogue, jazzy, b-boy breakbeat remix of „Jelly Belly“. Another living legend of the Australian scene – Ennio Styles (Stylin' radio show/Melbourne) completely flips „Sweet like Nectar“ into an uptempo lo-fi, live disco- boogie, dancefloor shaker. Japanese Dj and producer Chikashi Nishiwaki continues his remix love affair with Aussie groups and delivers a balearic re-make of „41 Bernhard“, teaming up with some friends to create a beautiful crossover piece fusing nu jazz, bossa and breaks flavours. Renegades of Jazz hits us with the fat, b-boy breaks flavour on the remix of 'Cat Whip', complete with acid bass line, synths and congas for extra dancefloor pressure.
This limited edition 12inch vinyl single (100 copies) with selected tracks from the digital release will be available in specialist shops.
